Arsenal are arguably their most confident coming into this game with Southampton. Two back to back wins in the league scoring 6 goals and not conceding has been followed by a superb 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in the quarter finals of the Europa League. Only a total meltdown in Russia will stop the Gunners from reaching the semi final stage.

Whilst the Europa League remains Arsenal’s priority this season the club will still want to give a great effort in the league and not fall away, and they have Chelsea in their sights now in order to finish in 5^th place. They are just five points behind the current champions.

Southampton are in dire straits in 18^th place and are now 2 points from safety. They have lost their last two games conceding 6 goals in the process. The Saints have won just 1 game from their last 15 and it’s been two months since their last win which predictably came against bottom side West Brom.

However this Arsenal team have some depth and also have a new found confidence in the last few weeks and if we look at form alone then Southampton have not been on the ball and it would be a major surprise not to see Arsenal get all three points.
