Match Preview:
Arsenal have been in superb form and the turnaround has felt like a revelation since their slow start to the campaign. And yet the Gunners were reminded that a quite hefty gap separates them from the best teams in the league as they were destroyed 4-0 away to Liverpool last weekend. Destroyed may feel like a harsh word but Liverpool hardly had to leave first gear for their win.
Manager Mikel Arteta will have to group his players together so they understand that the Liverpool defeat was not unique and that at this stage of Arsenal’s objectives was actually normal, they are not on Liverpool’s level but we should remind ourselves that this Arsenal team can beat the majority of sides in the league. Newcastle should certainly be one of them.
Currently the Gunners despite last weekend’s loss are in 5th place and just 3 points behind West Ham and there is all to play for in the race for a top 4 finish.
Newcastle are bottom of the league now after they drew 3-3 at home to Brentford in an exciting game for the neutral but another frustrating one for the Magpies. The club are still looking for their first win of the season and not many people will believe it will come away to Arsenal. Despite the buzz of a takeover which in time is supposed to make Newcastle rich they are the only team without a win so far and have slipped 5 points from safety.
Time is on Newcastle’s side and they have drafted in Eddie Howe, however Howe had to miss his debut game because he contracted Covid-19, he may well miss this one too though that hasn’t been confirmed. It is clear that Newcastle need Howe’s influence though and the feeling will be that it is only a matter of time before Newcastle change their form around.
Perhaps there is good news in the fact that the Magpies are not losing many games lately and indeed have drawn 3 of their last four games this includes drawing their last two on the road.
Team News:

Arsenal vs Newcastle Head to Head:

Newcastle have not won at the Emirates since 2010.
Arsenal vs Newcastle Prediction:
Mikel Arteta will have to hope that his players were not too rattled by the Liverpool defeat and they will be expected to win this game.
There’s a lot of noise coming off the pitch from Newcastle but we expect that the club are going to suffer for the next few months and will be desperate for the transfer window to open in January, until then we don’t see much changing at the club. They might be able to pick up points at home but away will be very difficult and despite Arsenal having obvious set backs under Arteta they should be too strong for the Magpies and they have a magnificent record over them too.
So Arsenal will be backed to win this.
