The gulf in class between these teams was evident on Sunday when Manchester City eased to a 3-0 win to clinch the Carabao Cup, Pep Guardiola’s first trophy for The Citizens. Arsenal now has the opportunity to avenge that defeat with a home fixture against the champions-elect.

With the Gunners currently in 6^th place and 10 points adrift of a Champions League finish this could well be the most underwhelming season of manager Arsene Wenger’s reign. Still the club will want to look on the bright side.
