Arsenal vs Fulham: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 26th August 2023
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Match Preview:

Arsenal have two wins from two and after missing out on the league title last season they will be determined to give Manchester City a run for their money. It is all about consistency and taking it one game at a time and for now the Gunners are passing that test.

So far Mikel Arteta’s side have beaten Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace but with so many goalscorers in the team some will be surprised that they have scored just 3 goals so far. Both games then could have ended in draws with a 2-1 win over Forest and they edged out Palace by 1-0, certainly they have looked like close affairs but the club have also shown lots of quality too. Arsenal will be the odds on favourites to make light work of Fulham but they will understand that they will have to be on their game. New signing Declan Rice seems to have fitted into the side well and is getting a lot of praise in the press.

Fulham started off the campaign with an impressive 1-0 victory away to Everton although it was also a victory that was seen as fairly lucky as Fulham were not the best team on the day. The Cottagers followed this up with a disappointing 3-0 loss at home to Brentford. That result doesn’t bode well for the future given it was their first home game of the season. Still even after two games they are in 13th place and currently above their local rivals Chelsea, for now this is like last season.

Team News:

Arsenal: Takehiro Tomiyasu is suspended after being sent off against Crystal Palace. Gabriel Jesus is out with a knee injury, Mohamed Elneny is also out long term with his knee and Jurrien Timber is also out with his knee.

Fulham: Tim Ream is suspended after being sent off last weekend. Willian will be assessed due to a slight knock.

Arsenal vs Fulham Head to Head:

Last season Arsenal won this fixture 2-1.

It’s been 11 years and 11 games since Fulham last beat Arsenal. The Cottagers have never beaten Arsenal away from home.

There is a 50% chance to see over 3.5 goals.

Arsenal vs Fulham Prediction:

There won’t be many takers at Arsenal winning the game at 1.20 so we will look into different markets. After the crushing loss at home to Brentford we only see one winner here and Arsenal have the quality to cruise control in this game. They need to be a little more aggressive and have that killer instinct but backing the Gunners to be winning at half time could be a good call.

Martin Odegaard who got the all important winner against Crystal Palace has a knack of scoring against Fulham and has done so in their previous two games so he could be worth backing here. There will be anticipation from the home fans to see a fair few goals which looks on the cards and who knows Fulham might get one too so it might be worth backing to see goals in what should be a game where the home side have plenty of goal scoring opportunities and Marco Silva’s side will have to concede possession and hope to focus on defence, but we can only see Arsenal running rampant here and getting all three points in what should be a straightforward victory for Arteta’s side.

Arsenal vs Fulham Betting Tips:

Half Time: Arsenal to win at 1.62

Anytime goalscorer: Martin Odegaard at 2.30

Asian total (Over 3) at 1.71
