England Premier League
Tuesday 29th January 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Match Preview:
The game between Arsenal and Cardiff at The Emirates will obviously be overshadowed by Emiliano Sala’s disappearance. Cardiff’s new signing disappeared whilst on a flight over the channel, although as we go to press there has been no confirmation of his whereabouts, although one week has now passed.
As far as football matters are concerned Arsenal will be the odds on favourites to beat Cardiff at home. The Gunners have not been in the best of form in the league but their home record is still impressive with 9 wins from 12 games and just 1 defeat which came on the opening day of the season. Their last match here ended in a brilliant 2-0 victory over Chelsea.
However Unai Emery’s team did lose here last weekend in the FA Cup when they were knocked out in the 4th round against Manchester United losing the game 3-1. But with the win over Chelsea, Arsenal’s hopes of a 4th place finish have been renewed, they are just three points behind The Blues.
As previously mentioned Cardiff are in mourning and shock over Sala’s disapperance and he would have certainly have been playing in this game. As it stands the club are in 18th and relegation is a real possibility. They have no wins in their last 3 games and away from home they have the 2nd to worst record in the league. They are almost shipping 2 goals per game on the road.
