England Premier League
Wednesday 27th February 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Match Preview:
Unai Emery will be happy that Arsenal get the chance to stay at home for a second match in a row after they eased past Southampton last weekend, winning that game 2-0. The Gunners scored both of their goals in the first half, but were always in control of the game and they will be expected to repeat that type of performance when they take on Bournemouth in midweek.
The win over The Saints was massive for the club as it took them to 4th place after Manchester United drew against Liverpool. They are 7 points adrift of Tottenham and 3rd place and the aim will be simple, to keep winning. Form is very good with 4 wins from their last five games and the club have lost just once at home all season.
There is also a lot of confidence about Arsenal now as they have qualified for the quarter finals of the Europa League after their 2 legged victory over BATE Borisov.
Overall Bournemouth have had a satisfying season but their recent form has taken a turn for the worse and the club have not won for the last 3 matches. Their last result was a decent 1-1 draw at home to Wolves but on the road Eddie Howe’s side have really struggled and they come here losing their last 5 in a row and have lost 10 of their 13 games this season. If it wasn’t for the clubs home form they would certainly have been relegated this season.
Eddie Howe has to work out how his side can stop conceding goals away from home, where they are averaging almost 3 a game. In their last five away matches they have shipped 16 goals. That task looks daunting given Arsenal’s attacking play and the firepower the club has up front.
