Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Match Preview:
Arsenal are finding a way and marching forward and in midweek they won their 19th game of the season as they crushed Everton 4-0. It was a significant result as it was the Gunners crucial game in hand over 2nd placed Manchester City and with 60 points Mikel Arteta’s side are now 5 points clear at the top with the same games played. There are 39 points left on the table and this should be quite a fascinating end to the season.
Arsenal will be expected to not just win this game at the weekend but score a few goals too, much like the game against Everton and the league leaders will be the odds on favourtes to make light work of Bournemouth. The Gunners have been strong at home in this campaign winning 9 of their 12 matches here and losing just once so far which was a few weeks ago against Manchester City.
Spare a thought for Bournemouth who in their last game had to face Manchester City which they got hammered 4-1 at home and it doesn’t get any easier with an away trip to Arsenal. Gary O’ Neil who impressed in his first few months in charge of the Cherries is under intense pressure to keep his job with the club falling to 19th place although coming into this weekend they are only a point from safety. Form has not been the worst considering their position and they have been able to pick up 5 points from the last 15 available.
However the Cherries have really been caught out on the road granted they actually did win their last away game beating Wolves 1-0 but they have lost 8 of their 12 games on the road so far and are almost conceding 3 goals on average per game.
Team News:
Arsenal: Eddie Nketiah has a knock and may be fine but will be assessed. Jorginho is ill and will be assessed but could be a doubt. Gabriel Jesus misses out again but could return next week.
Bournemouth: Junior Stanislas has a slight knock and will be assessed, Mathias Vina will be assessed due to a recent knee injury and remains a slight doubt. Illnia Zabarnyi has an ankle injury and is out until at least next week. Marcus Tavernier, Lewis Cook, Lloyd Kelly and David Brooks are all out with no fixed return date.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth Head to Head:
The clubs have only played each other 13 times and Arsenal has 10 wins.
The last time the clubs played at Arsenal was back in 2019 and the Gunners won 1-0.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Arsenal won 3-0.
There is an 80% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth Prediction:
Not only do we only see a home win but we think Arsenal can continue where they left off against Everton and score a few goals too. Gabriel Martinelli has been on fire lately scoring 3 goals and with doubts over Eddie Nketiah this will just give Martinelli more impetus to come further forward and he could get on the score sheet once again. Keep an eye on Martin Odegaard who also scored in midweek and he scored a brace against the Cherries earlier in the season too. Given that the Gunners are lower than 1.25 to win this possibly backing them on the handicap seems the way to go here.
Bournemouth have only beaten Arsenal once in their history, it was in 2018 but was also away from home. We don’t see them having a sniff here the Gunners will be all over them and have the advantage of staying at home for the second successive game.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth Betting Tips:
Handicap: Arsenal to beat Bournemouth with a -1 goal start at 1.62
Anytime goalscorer: Gabriel Martinelli at 2.50
Anytime goalscorer: Martin Odegaard at 2.75
