These are glorious times for Arsenal and the long suffering fans of the club will be delighted by their start. It is four wins from four games and Mikel Arteta’s side are two points clear at the top. The Gunners are playing good football under the Spaniard and everything seems very positive with them and they will come into this game as the favourites. This fixture is also Arsenal’s second in a row at home.
Last weekend Arsenal came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 to maintain their perfect start to the campaign and they are the only club to have a 100% record so far. Critics will point out that they have not played any of the bigger and dangerous teams yet and that is true and Villa do not represent that also, but at the same time you have to beat the teams in front of you.
There has been a turning of the screw at Aston Villa and one suspects that some pressure is building for manager Steven Gerrard. If you count last season Villa have won just 3 of their last 15 games and have not started this season well with just one victory so far. Villa come into this game already 9 points shy of Arsenal and they have lost their last two games which came against West Ham and Crystal Palace. On the road the goal difference does not read well scored 1 and conceded 5 but perhaps the panic button doesn’t have to be pressed just yet given how early we are in the season.

Arsenal: Oleksandr Zinchenko will be assessed for a knee injury, Thomas Partey has a thigh injury and will also be assessed. Reiss Nelson is out with a muscle injury.
Aston Villa: Tyrone Mings missed the game at the weekend due to illness and will be assessed for this one. Diego Carlos has an Achilles injury with no fixed return date.

There are goals in this side and that is a danger for Villa who keep on conceding especially away from home.
Steven Gerrard has a huge job on his hands with the pressure building you don’t want to play the team in 1st place away from home, but that is the reality. Villa need to press for the ball and defend well but we can’t see them getting much joy at the Emirates. The former Liverpool great has already managed in two games against Arsenal and lost them both and with a goal difference of 4-1.
