Match Preview:

We have a very interesting game on Sunday afternoon to get our teeth into when Wolves take on Sheffield United. Here are two teams that have punched above their weight and Sheffield United have had such a positive start to the season so it will be interesting how they will be able to adapt their game against a tricky side such as Wolves.

The home side have crept up to 5th place after a slow start and are in good form having remained unbeaten for a month and winning their last two games against Aston Villa and Bournemouth respectively. Wolves would stay in 5th with a win because the gap to Chelsea in 4th is 7 points but a win would still keep the club up there and increase some pressure on the fourth placed team.

One worry is Wolves home form, as their away form is slightly better and they are not scoring enough at home, just 9 so far. But they have lost just once in their last five games and seem to be rectifying that record.

Sheffield United have been a revelation and continue to impress under manager Chris Wilder. Last weekend had a bit of everything for the club who ran into a 2-0 lead against Manchester United and had been playing so well before it that the score never seemed like a shock. United came back and actually went 3-2 up, but it showed a lot of character for Sheffield to come back and grab a point. What that match did highlight was concentration and Wilder’s side simply had 10 poor minutes which could have cost them the game. They have not lost for over a month but are perhaps drawing too many games.

In the league there are only two teams who have not lost away from home, one is Liverpool and the other is Sheffield United. Whilst that stat is impressive we have to remember that Sheffield have have drawn 5 of their six games on the road.

Wolves vs Sheffield Utd Prediction:

This will be a closely fought game especially in the first half but we think that Wolves could hold all of the cards the longer the match goes on. After a slow start to the season they are learning like last season how to win games, and are playing a very quick game and proving their fitness levels. They could just have that bit extra over their opponents, although we do expect a close game with hardly anything in it. Respective midfields and distribution of the ball could be the difference as these two top coaches will tactically go head to head.
