Wolves vs Norwich: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 23rd February 2020
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves have slipped to 8th place as they have gone without a win in the league since the middle of January going back 4 games. They would start to lose touch with the top 4 if they were unable to win this weekend, though the fact they are at home to the bottom club should make that a harder thing to achieve.

To be fair Wolves have had some tough games, their last two have seen them take on Manchester United and Leicester and on both occasions they drew those games and by the same score line of 0-0. Goals have been hard to come by for the club lately although they got a terrific result in the Europa League in midweek beating La Liga side Espanyol 4-0 in the knockout stage 1st leg. They will be huge favourites to advance now.

Home games for Wolves have been dominated by draws with almost 50% of their games here ending that way. They haven’t won at home since beating Manchester City of all clubs during the Christmas period.

Norwich are bottom and 7 points from safety. They lost their last game but only by a 1-0 scoreline to Liverpool of all teams, and when you see them fight and chase for the ball like they did against the team in 1st place you do wonder why they are bottom and favourites to be relegated. Time is running out for the club though and this is a very tough game for them to play.

The Canaries have won just once on the road this season and scored just 6 goals. Their last away game ended in a 0-0 draw at Newcastle.

Team News:

Wolves: The club have no new injuries coming into this match.

Norwich: Sam Byram has a hamstring injury and will miss the rest of the season. Onel Hernandez has a knee injury and hasn’t been ruled out of this game but is a major doubt. Christoph Zimmerman has picked up a hamstring injury and is also a major doubt for this game.

Wolves vs Norwich Head to Head:

The last time the clubs played here the match finished 2-2.

In 7 meetings with Wolves at home Norwich have only won once.

4 of the last 5 meetings have seen both teams to score.

Wolves vs Norwich Prediction:

The Europa League game was very important for Wolves and even though Norwich could rest this week and Wolves had to play, that shouldn't have too much effect on this game. Wolves beat a quality side in Espanyol 4-0, that will and should install a belief that they can finish the season strongly and should be beating teams like Norwich who have not travelled well this season and look likely for relegation.

The home side are 1.50 to win the game, which won’t be the price that every punter will be happy about, but we can increase those odds to 1.93 without increasing the risk by using a -1 asian handicap and that will be our main choice here.

Wolves vs Norwich Betting Tips:

Asian handicap (-1 Wolves) at 1.93

Anytime goalscorer: Raul Jimenez at 1.91
