Wolves vs Crystal Palace: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 2nd January 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Even the most hardcore fan of Wolves could not have predicted and then believed what was going to happen in their last game vs Tottenham. Predictably losing 1-0 at Wembley with barely 20 minutes left Wolves roared back and tamed Spurs and won 3-1. Years ago Sir Alex Ferguson commented, “football…bloody hell”, and that summed up this game.

The win kept Wolves’ good form up where they have lost just 1 game in their past five and are now in 8th place with 29 points. Overall form has improved and their one defeat was against Liverpool, a match they were able to shrug off as getting beaten simply by the better side and they have looked like early season form in the past month.

Crystal Palace have pulled off some great results this season but the truth is they need to kick on if they want to survive. They are in 14th place but also just 4 points from the bottom three. The Eagles come into this match having lost at Chelsea last weekend and they haven’t won a game since their stunning 3-2 victory against Manchester City just before Christmas.

Roy Hodgson’s side have picked up just 10 points from a possible 30 away from home and have lost 3 of their last five games on the road.

Team News:

Wolves: There is no news on Diogo Jota but he looks doubtful for this game with his hamstring injury. Adama Traore picked up the same injury in the clubs win over Tottenham and could also miss this game

Crystal Palace: No new injuries coming into this game

Wolves vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:

Earlier this season Wolves won away 1-0.

The teams have not played here since 2012 where Palace won 2-1.

Both teams have scored in 4 of the last 5 meetings.

Wolves vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

Palace have shown moments this season where they could easily be a top 10 side, but their away form is questionable overall, barring the City win. Still, we think they can have a say in this game and will back both teams to score. The game could be a very close one, and for smaller stakes we will back the correct score. But we wouldn’t be surprised if this match ends in a draw, so backing the double chance on Palace could be worth your time.

Wolves vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 2.00

Double chance: Crystal Palace to win or draw at 1.72

Correct Score 1-1 or 2-2 at 6.00 and 19.00
