Wolves vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 20th April 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Despite what has been an otherwise very good and very positive season for Wolves there is the threat that it could end up as a damp squib given that the club have won just 1 game from their past four matches.

Wolves last match ended in a 3-1 defeat at Southampton, however the club are in 8th place and only goal difference separates them from 7th and Leicester.

The club can and should draw on their recent home form, which has been very good and they remain unbeaten in their last 5 matches having gained 13 points and winning their last two games, their last home match ended in a fantastic 2-1 win over Manchester United.

There is a lot of worry concerning Brighton who have been poor in 2019. So poor that from being a top 10 team they could get relegated. This was highlighted in midweek when they played 18th place Cardiff at home and lost the game 2-0. It means that Chris Hughton’s side are now just 2 points from Cardiff. The only good news is that they have played a game less than The Bluebirds. However the writing looks on the wall and in the clubs last two games they have conceded 7 goals without reply.

In the last 10 games Brighton have earned just 7 points and away from home they have lost 11 games from 16 and have lost 4 of their last 5 games on the road.

Team News:

Wolves: The club have no new injury concerns coming into this game

Brighton: Anthony Knockaert is suspended for 3 games after being sent off v Bournemouth. Apart from Knockaert’s absence Hughton has a full squad to pick from

Wolves vs Brighton Head to Head:

Brighton won this game earlier in the season 1-0.

Brighton have beaten Wolves in the last 3 meetings.

Wolves have not beaten Brighton when at home since 2006.

Wolves vs Brighton Prediction:

Wolves have a very poor record over Brighton that is clear. However it is hard to believe with Brighton in their current state that the club will be able to go away to Wolves who have remained unbeaten at home this year and get the win they need. Wolves form has been erratic and this game presents the perfect opportunity for the club to get back on track and if 7th does open up for a Europa League spot they will give themselves a great chance with a win here. We feel this will be a solid and professional victory from the club. Wolves are odds on but for us and considering how poor Brighton have been they are a decent price.

Wolves vs Brighton Betting Tips:
