Wolves vs Aston Villa: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 10th November 2019
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves come into this match in 15th place and have remained unbeaten in the league for the past 5 games though that includes drawing their last three. Last weekend that draw came against Arsenal, and was a successful result given that they were losing the match.

Wolves would shoot into the top 10 with a win here and being at home they will fancy their chances, where they have lost just once this season, the problem is that they have only won once also with 60% of games here finishing in a draw.

Even though Wolves have the advantage of playing this match at Molineux, they did have to play just 3 days ago in the Europa League so there is a chance their players might not be a well rested as usual, although that game was also at Molineux so at least no distance travelling to deal with.

Aston Villa are in 17th place but a win would take them above Wolves. At a glance it would be possible to think that Villa were in poor form as they have lost their last two games, however these came against Liverpool and Manchester City. On the road the club have lost 4 from their five games so far, again they have had tough fixtures to deal with and the team they did beat was Norwich and they won that 5-1. One positive aspect to take from Villa is that they are scoring goals and have 16 so far. That’s more than Manchester United and the same as Arsenal.

Team News:

Wolves: Willy Boly is out with a broken ankle, and Morgan Gibbs-White is doubtful with a back injury.

Aston Villa: Jack Grealish should return from a calf injury, Frederic Guilbert has a dead leg but is likely to be fine for the game. Jota is 50/50 following his hernia operation

Wolves vs Aston Villa Head to Head:

This is the first Premier League game for the clubs since 2012 at Wolves where Villa won 3-2.

Wolves have won the last two meetings over Aston Villa when at home.

There is a 75% chance to see both teams to score.

Wolves vs Aston Villa Prediction:

We expect a very equal game where the midfielders will have a lot of possession of the ball. Other matches have been very close and we don’t see a difference here. We have two picks which is to see the draw at full time which is always risky but we can’t pick these two teams apart. The other is to see few opportunities, which equates to few goals and we will back under 2.5 goals. With a big game taking place this Sunday in the league this will be likely the forgotten cousin.

Wolves vs Aston Villa Betting Tips:
