Wolves vs Arsenal: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 4th July 2020
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

No fans shouldn’t take away from a fixture which has all the ingredients of being a cracking duel. Wolves have been superb for the best part of a year and come into this game in 6th place. They have a genuine chance of making the Champions League but competition of course has been fierce.

Since the restart Wolves have been superb beating West Ham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa. A cynic would point to the fact that at the time that was facing teams in 17th, 18th and 19th position, however Wolves have had to do the job and beat the team on the pitch. They look like a group of players with a lot of ambition and commitment and will be up for this game.

On form don’t be surprised to know that they would be 1st in the league, and that should say it all. At home they have lost 3 times this season but have gone their last 4 games unbeaten at Molineux.

Arsenal started the campaign in poor form losing easily to Manchester City and then a shock loss to Brighton. But the club snapped back into it reaching the semi finals of the FA Cup, beating Southampton and then putting 4 goals past Norwich. The confidence has lifted in the side but no one can deny this will be a tough fixture for the Gunners.

Whilst Arsenal won their last away game which was against Southampton they have won just 3 games away from home all season with the majority of results ending in a draw, indeed 50% of their games have ended this way.

Arsenal have been criticised this season and yet they are only two wins away from 5th place, win this and they could start feeling comfortable about finishing in a top six place.

Team News:

Wolves: No new injuries for the club coming into this game

Arsenal: Mesut Ozil has a back injury but will be assessed ahead of this game. Pablo Mari is ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury and an update on Bernd Leno suggests he will miss the rest of the season

Wolves vs Arsenal Head to Head:

In the reverse fixture earlier this season the game finished 1-1.

Last season Wolves won this game 3-1.

In the last 9 meetings Wolves have just one victory, with Arsenal winning 5, though Arsenal have not beaten Wolves since 2012.

The last 3 meetings has seen both teams to score.

Wolves vs Arsenal Prediction:

This match really could go either way. A victory for either club would make a statement. The one mistake some teams have made this season is to under estimate this Arsenal side though. Keep focused and disiplined and Wolves could be too much for Arsenal at the weekend, but Arsenal have some great players and can also punish the home side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored again last weekend and that will help his confidence. We should see a very entertaining game with a few goals, and goals could be the sfer market.

Wolves vs Arsenal Betting Tips:

Goal line (Over 2) at 1.60

Both teams to score at 1.80
