West Ham vs Man Utd: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Thursday 10th May 2018
Kick off at 7.45pm BST
Venue: Olympic Stadium

Match Preview:

Had this been a relegation game for West Ham then many would have believed that the Hammers would have been playing Championship football next season. But there is relief for the fans as West Ham were confirmed as staying up earlier in the week. It means that David Moyes' side can just try and enjoy their football for the remainder of the season.

West Ham managed a brilliant 2-0 win away to Leicester which was massive for them last weekend. That came off conceding 8 goals in their previous two matches and was much needed.

Manchester United have had some brilliant results but also some poor ones latley. Losses against West Brom and Brighton were unexpected and it is clear that with runners up spot in theory wrapped up that the players have switched off and are now thinking about the FA Cup final on May 19th.

Away from home United have won 10 from 18 games and before losing to Brighton had racked up 3 wins in a row.

West Ham vs Manchester Utd Team News:

West Ham: Marko Arnautovic may miss this game after picking up a knock vs Leicester. Joe Hart could return in goal after being ill last week.

Manchester United: Alexis Sanchez is a doubt after picking up a knock as is Phil Jones, and Romelu Lukaku looks set to miss the rest of the season through injury.

West Ham vs Manchester Utd Head to Head:

Manchester United have scored 10 goals against West Ham in their last 3 meetings

Since 2011 West Ham have just 1 victory over Manchester United when playing at home

West Ham vs Manchester Utd Prediction:

On the face of it both teams can play an enjoyable match with no huge motivation to win. However behind the scenes United manager Jose Mourinho is livid with his team and is demanding a performance from them. On the other hand West Ham are playing at home and Moyes will want the club to repeat the shocks that West Brom and Brighton gave United. We should see a very entertaining game that could be quite open.
