England Premier League
Saturday 20th April 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Olympic Stadium
Match Preview:
West Ham have been poor lately and have shown signs of their nightmarish early season form as The Hammers wrap up another season in the Premier League.
However there might be some light at the end of the tunnel despite losing 3 games in a row and 4 in 5 coming into this game and that is they played great football away to Manchester United last weekend in a case where the better team lost. Harsh decisions went against them including a penalty for United that was questionable and Felipe Anderson’s goal that should have counted. Despite a good performance they lost 2-1 and now it is a question what can Manuel Pellegrini’s team take away from the game?
Though it has not been fully confirmed, The Hammers could witness an emotional return for Jack Wilshire who has missed almost the entire season with injury. Despite The Hammers bad form they have lost just 1 game at home in their last five which came in their last match played here against Everton.
Leicester put in a woeful display last weekend when they lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle. It was an abject affair by The Foxes who have otherwise been in brilliant form under new manager Brendan Rodgers. Leicester have pulled 5 points clear of West Ham and on the road they have won their last two games.
Team News:
West Ham: As mentioned before there is a chance that Jack Wilshire could return from a long term injury and now it is just a matter of the players fitness. Carlos Sanchez has also missed most of the season and he has returned to training. Samir Nasri is a major doubt to return to the squad this weekend with an ongoing calf injury. Lucas Perez should be back after his knock. Manuel Lanzini who has just come back to the side after missing 90% of the season is again sidelined with a groin injury. Javier Hernandez has an ear infection but will be assessed ahead of the game. Aaron Cresswell should return after a minor knock
Leicester: Unlike West Ham, The Foxes have no injury worries coming into this match
