Has the Premier League just become a two horse league that nobody has picked up on yet? Manchester City are two points clear of Liverpool and Liverpool are five points clear of third place and we could be looking at the two teams who will contest for the title.

First Manchester City will have to travel to Watford, a team who lost at this stadium to Liverpool 3-0 a few weeks ago. City were made to work hard in their last game at home to Bournemouth but were able to record their 12^th win of the season from 14 games and maintain their 100% record at home with a 3-1 win.

But Pep Guardiola’s team haven’t had it all their own way on the road where they have ‘only’ picked up 14 points from a possible 18. In short City are still unbeaten this season and that is unlikely to change in midweek. On the road they have scored 13 goals and conceded just once which is a remarkable feat, Wolves were the team to score that goal.

Watford are in 10^th place and already there is an 18 point gap to leaders City. They come into this game in dismal form having lost back to back matches and have not won in their last 4 attempts. 

At home their record is slightly better where they have won 60% of their points, the problem is that they have also lost 3 of their last 4 games at Vicarage Road.

Manchester City: The big news is the possible absence of Sergio Aguero who has a muscle strain. Though the Argentinian will be assessed ahead of the game. Kevin De Bruyne is making superb progress but is ruled out for this game, though could be back for the weekend. Oleksandr Zinchenko has a face injury but will be assessed before the game.
