Tottenham vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 1st March 2020
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Match Preview:

It’s still easy to remember a drenched Jose Mourinho celebrating a last kick of the ball winner at Wolves a few months ago and it was a game like that that was supposed to kick start Tottenham’s season under him. But in truth and even though the club have showed a lot of positives they are yet to find a winning consistency under the special one.

Tottenham are just 5 points behind 4th placed Chelsea who could only draw at Bournemouth and it will feel that the door has been left open again for the club to give it another go after last weekend when they were defeated by Chelsea.

That loss to Chelsea stopped a 3 game winning run but wins have come at a cost and Spurs have had injury problems, so much so that Mourinho was reduced to laughter about it in a recent press conference. At home the club have won 8 of their 13 games and have won their last two matches here with their last ending in a 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

Wolves are in 8th place and just 1 point behind their hosts and they come into this game on a 3 game unbeaten run. That includes draws against both Manchester United and Leicester, and in their last game they beat Norwich 3-0. Almost half of the clubs points have come away from home however they have won just 4 times on the road so far this season.

Team News:

Tottenham: Juan Foyth is training again and might be considered. Ryan Sessegnon has been ruled out with a hip injury.

Wolves: Jonny has a knock but has a 50/50 chance to make this game

Tottenham vs Wolves Head to Head:

Last season Wolves beat Tottenham 3-1 in this fixture.

The last four meetings has seen both teams to score.

Tottenham haven’t beaten Wolves when at home since 2010.

Tottenham vs Wolves Prediction:

Lucas Moura will have to step up to the plate one suspects as Tottenham have injuries to both Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, but this is a tough game for Tottenham make no mistake and they will have to be at their best not to lose this game. The problem is Tottenham are far from being at their best, even when they win it doesn't look convincing. Also, they do not have a great record over Wolves and the likes of Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota are in such great form. Therefore we think there is value in backing Wolves but with the draw covered. We also think there could be goals in the game and we will back that. Expect a very entertaining game where the teams will both play to win and tactics even at this level could well go out the window.

Tottenham vs Wolves Betting Tips:

Draw no bet (Wolves) at 2.10
