Tottenham vs Norwich: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 5th December 2021
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Match Preview:

Are the good times back at Tottenham? It’s 3 games unbeaten now and their last two have ended in wins. Those victories came against Leeds and Brentford and Tottenham will certainly fancy their chances to beat Norwich and the fans will be expecting it.

Tottenham are in sixth place now and just 1 point behind their north London rivals Arsenal and they have played a game less. This weekend could be Tottenham’s big opportunity to make a splash into the top four. Overall at home Tottenham have been strong this season and have the 4th best record in the league with 5 wins from seven games played. This includes winning three of their last four games here.

Norwich are in 19th place but there is no doubt that the club have really improved since Dean Smith took charge. The Canaries have now gone their last 4 games unbeaten and drew their last two. In midweek they went a goal behind at Newcastle but were able to end that game 1-1 and there is a real fight in the club now that was clearly missing beforehand. The worry though for such a limited squad is when will the new manager syndrome rub off? For example if Tottenham win and win well that could set the club back again.

With ten points Norwich are just 3 points from safety however it only takes them to lose this game and for Newcastle to finally win at the weekend to see Norwich back at the bottom of the league again. Away from home Norwich have just one victory however they have managed to lose just once in their last four trips.

Team News:

Tottenham: Giovani Lo Celso has a knock and will miss this game but could return soon after. Cristian Romero is out with his on going hamstring injury. Dane Scarlett is out with an ankle injury.

Norwich: Mathias Normann is out with a pelvic injury and he isn’t due back for another week at least. Milot Rashica has a groin injury that could likely keep him out for another month. Christoph Zimmermann misses out again with an ankle injury.

Tottenham vs Norwich Head to Head:

It’s been six games since Norwich beat Tottenham and they haven’t beaten them away since 2012.

The last 3 meetings has seen both teams to score.

Tottenham vs Norwich Prediction:

Tottenham are around 1.30 to win this game and that will be off putting for some punters especially as Norwich have come on leaps and bounds under Smith. Having said that Tottenham have been injected by some of Conte’s magic and the value can be increased with no extra risk by using a "-1 asian handicap".

Tottenham need to start the game quickly and get the ball moving. Heung Min Son will be encouraged by his goal and he is a selfless attacker who will be looking to tee up the struggling Harry Kane. Kane on his day is one of football’s best forwards and he will be looking to score against a defence which has shipped 28 goals so far.

Tottenham vs Norwich Betting Tips:

Asian handicap (-1 Tottenham) at 1.60

Anytime goalscorer: Harry Kane at 1.57
