Tottenham vs Bournemouth: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 30th November 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Match Preview:

Jose Mourinho has landed in north London with a bang, and goals, and suddenly Tottenham’s players who looked like a horde of rabbits in headlights 10 days ago look back to their potential best.

The first team to beat was West Ham, which they did so and followed that up by overcoming Olympiacos in the Champions League to qualify for the knock out round. Tottenham have scored 7 goals in two games and whilst they are conceding (4 in those matches) Mourinho will be happy that the team are winning. And talk about winning, Mourinho is already in the hearts of the fans after he praised and hugged a ball boy who put the ball quickly back into play, which led to a Tottenham goal against Olympiacos. Fans love that and it was classic Mourinho. The impact has been made.

A win at the weekend could take Spurs to into the top 7 at least as they try to chase a top 4 finish. They are currently 9 points adrift of Mourinho’s old team Chelsea and that will be quite an ask but the club do have time on their side.

Bournemouth are in 11th place and just one point shy of their hosts so they do have motivation to come here and do well. However decent form has taken a blow and they have lost their last two games against Newcastle and Wolves. Eddie Howe’s side have lost 50% of games away from home and the most telling statistic is that they have won just 1 game in their last five.

Team News:

Tottenham: Ben Davies looks set to miss the rest of the year with an ankle injury. Erik Lamela is still out with his hamstring

Bournemouth: Simon Francis is suspended after being sent off. Phillip Billing is also suspended after picking up five yellow cards. Dominic Solanke will face a late test on his hamstring

Tottenham vs Bournemouth Prediction:

The bookmakers are worried with Mourinho in charge and Tottenham’s price has been brought down to around 1.30 to win this game, which doesn’t offer much value to us. We think they will ease to victory here. The players have not looked happier for a very long time and it is clear at least for now that Mourinho is curbing his most disciplinarian ways. It could all go south for Mourinho at the club in the future but for now he is in a very good moment and so are the club who should have little trouble getting a win at the weekend against a team who come here with confidence issues.
