Kylian Mbappé - The World at His Feet!

Kylian Sanmi Mbappé Lottin is the subject of a lot of transfer speculation, especially after a great year of football playing for Monaco. However, he still has a lot to learn, and is a huge gamble. Many young players arrive at clubs with such hype, and most end up disappearing into oblivion. Most recently seen with Adnan Januzaj leaving Manchester Utd only last week, to end up at Real Sociedad following a fairly unimpressive loan spell at Sunderland last season. If you don't believe the hype, you'll realise that Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy, and Fabinho are the ready-made players to add to any top squad. They are all subject to transfer moves to the Premier league, with Bernado Silva already now at Manchester City. Over £160m of talent, and open to moves providing you can match the asking price. Monaco have hit a rich vein with a squad of talent, similar to the Ajax squad of 1994-1996. You can compare the two squads, Winstone Bogarde, Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids, Edwin Van Der Sar and Patrick Kluivert, all playing for Ajax, however Ajax managed to win the Champions league in 1995, which is the biggest difference. Maybe the competition was easier to win in the 1990's, as today is all about the big clubs always dominating. Kluivert moved to Barcelona, and was relatively successful but he never really made the best of his chances, ending up with a stint at Newcastle. He was even involved in a rape case, before being cleared.

If Mbappe is to move to another club, he'll need to make the most important decision of his career. At the tender age of 18, he has the luxury of being able to choose from Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City. However with Mbappe's football idol being Zinedine Zidane, it could be difficult to separate emotions from the decision. Wenger on the other hand has developed the career of many young players, and Guardiola has also worked with many top players, and knows how to put that knowledge to good use.

Mbappe's pace is his biggest asset, with both crossing the ball in from the wing, and scoring goals with the head not being his strong points. He doesn't pull players out of position often, or make many opportunities for his strike partner Radamel Falcao. He seems to prefer to hang on to the last defender, and turn with pace in a similar way to Nicolas Anelka back in the day. Mbappe could well be better off just staying at Monaco, and learning from the perfect striker. Step forward Radamel Falcao, pre injury problems; he was the hottest striker in Europe. Remember that hatrick he scored against Chelsea in the Super Cup for Atletico Madrid? Then there's that goal against Man City at the Etihad, in the last 16 of the Champions league last season. Robbing John Stones in the penalty area, and chipping Claudio Bravo. Where else would you get game time, and learn about goal scoring?

Mbappe needs to stay put for another two years, then he'll be able to make that career changing move. Otherwise the transfer price, and pressure at a big club could come too early in his so far very short career.
