The two outstanding pound for pound teams in the Premier League who have really impressed this season will go head to head in midweek.
Sheffield United started their campaign again quite slow, putting in under par performances which saw the club drop to 9th place. However since then they have recovered well, beating Tottenham 3-1 and then drawing at Burnley. The Blades come into this game in 8th place with 48 points but it is so tight up there, a win could take them into 7th if Arsenal have dropped points against Leicester.
Chris Wilder’s side have won 50% of their games at home and what will be encouraging to them is that they have gone their last 4 games here unbeaten.
Wolves were given a body blow by Arsenal losing 2-0 at home. It was a real sucker punch for their Champions League hopes and they have let Manchester United into 5th place and fallen 5 points behind 4th position. The club had won their last 3 games in a row and were expected, at home, to beat Arsenal.
This is a must win game for them and the good news is that they have the 3rd best away record in the league. They have only lost 3 times on the road and are unbeaten in their last 5 games winning 3 in a row coming into this one.
Team News:
Sheffield United: John Fleck isn’t expected back until mid July with a groin injury. Luke Freeman has had a flare up of an old injury and is expected to miss the next couple of weeks. John Lundstram is ruled out with a shoulder injury.
Wolves: The club have no new injuries coming into this game.

We’re going to back the home team here. Wolves are a dangerous team and they will have many chances on goal. But Sheffield United have been solid at home this season and are a difficult team for any club to come here and play - just look at what happened to Tottenham. It is a tricky game to call and in truth this could go either way but United have the chance to bounce back and make this 3 games unbeaten. They also should be motivated by possible European football next season and can close the gap to Wolves to just 1 point, instead of 7 if they lose here. This is an open game and that means a good open market for us with plenty of value around for our picks. The Blades are around the 4.00 mark at home to win, which offers enough value to even cover the draw as well. Also, with both teams ideally needing a win, we feel there is excellent value in the goals market.
