England Premier League
Saturday 24th August 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Bramall Lane
Match Preview:
It’s just the way the fixtures work out and Sheffield United will be playing their 2nd game in a row at home whilst Leicester will be making their 2nd away trip on the spin.
The Blades will be delighted with their start, 2 games and still undefeated with 4 points and in 8th position - this Premier League game is a doddle, right? Well playing a team that pose genuine threat in Leicester may just tell us more about the mental strengths and capacity of Sheffield United and this could be a fascinating game.
United’s strength has to be at home, and getting the win last weekend over Crystal Palace even by just 1 goal to nil was a massive result, it will give the players a lift and a belief, that they can start securing points at home on a regular basis.
Leicester have also had a decent start with two draws from two tough games. Their 0-0 result at home to Wolves could have been seen as two points dropped but Wolves could be very strong this season, but their next game showed a lot of character going to Chelsea and getting a 1-1 draw after being a goal down. It was significant in the fact that this was Frank Lampard’s first game in charge at Stamford Bridge with a roaring crowd to boot, and yet Brendan Rodgers team focused when under pressure and in fact finished the game strongly too. It wasn’t a vintage performance but any team that takes points from Chelsea at the Bridge deserves some plaudits.
