Match Preview:
Norwich will be one of the favourites to be relegated and on the face of it seeing that they lost 4-1 against Liverpool would further that case. However despite the heavy loss the Canaries actually did play some good football last Friday to open up the new Premier League season and had several good chances in front of goal.
This game will be quite emotional for the club being the first home game of the season and the club will be well aware of trying to get their first win of the season. The stadium will be packed and there should be a great atmosphere on Saturday afternoon.
Newcastle opened their account with a 1-0 home loss against Arsenal. It was always going to be a difficult game against the Gunners but the fans were correct to be unhappy given that their team was at home and both teams hardly put in fantastic performances.
The game will be fascinating to see how Newcastle manager Steve Bruce reacts. Not always known for his attacking play Bruce finds himself having lost the first game of the season and now playing a possibly dangerous side in Norwich. Does Bruce go all out attack or try and grab a point and avoid back to back losses?
Team News:
Norwich: Ibrahim Aamdou faces a late fitness test which kept him out of the first game of the season. Timm Klose has a hip injury and was pencilled in for this game although no update has been given on his situation. Alexander Tettey has a prolonged calf injury and looks set to miss this game and could miss the rest of the month
Newcastle: Jonjo Shelvey has a knock which he picked up against Arsenal but he should be included in the first team squad for this game. Otherwise the Magpies have long term injuries following over from last season and new signing Andy Carroll is expected to be back soon, his delay has been because a lack of match fitness.
