Norwich vs Arsenal: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 1st December 2019
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Carrow Road

Match Preview:

Arsenal have sacked Unai Emery and that will be the news all over this match as the Gunners prepare to try and win a rare game away from home. Emery finally lost the boards trust after the club lost 2-1 to Eintract Frankfurt in the Europa League putting their hopes of qualifying for the knock out stages slightly in jeopardy. However there was also the poor start to the league campaign where Arsenal have lost just 3 matches which isn’t the worst statistic ever but they have drawn 6, and the team have looked confused tactically.

The Gunners will be the favourites despite their poor form to win this match. Caretaker manager is Freddie Ljungberg the ever popular Swede that played for the club 20 years ago. It will be fascinating to see if the players are able to step up to the level that they should be at with a new face in the dugout.

Arsenal would be 15th based on away form and it has been a problem for the club not under just Emery but Arsene Wenger too. They have won just once away all season when they played Newcastle.

Norwich got a fantastic victory at Everton winning 2-0 and not many people would have seen that result coming. It was so important for the Canaries and lifted them from the bottom of the league. They come into this match in 18th and that win stopped a streak of 3 losses in a row. At Carrow Road the club have lost 4 from 6 games, winning just two, and they have lost their last 3 consecutive matches at home. If they win this game they would most likely stay in the bottom three but would be putting immense pressure on both West Ham and Everton.

Team News:

Norwich: Todd Cantwell is expected to be fit after his ankle injury. Josip Drmic is set to miss the rest of the year with his hamstring injury. Jamal Lewis will face a late test after injuring his knee earlier in the month. Alexander Tettey has been excused from the game due to personal reasons

Arsenal: Hector Bellerin could be making his comeback from long term injury but will face a late test. David Luiz has a rib injury but it is thought to be minor and he could be selected

Norwich vs Arsenal Head to Head:

The teams have not met here in the league since 2015 when the game finished as a 1-1 draw.

Norwich have not beat Arsenal in the league since 2012 which was at Carrow Road

The last 3 league meetings have all seen under 2.5 goals.

Norwich vs Arsenal Prediction:

The problems will be more than grave for Arsenal if they can’t come away from Carrow Road with a win. They do have a better team than Norwich, are in a superior position and now have a new manager. If the players can’t get even a little motivated by that then the problems at Arsenal could drag them down even further. We believe that Arsenal shouldn’t have too many worries here and for them their better attacking players should be able to come out of their shells. As for Norwich they will take something from their win at Everton and really have no choice but to attack and try and win this game. It is why we should see a very entertaining game that could be close as both teams could set up so we see end to end football.
