In the Premier League the games have felt like they have been scattered as football continues to come thick and fast with 2 game weeks in the space of a few days.

Manchester United were one of the few teams to come out as winners. Firstly the new league leaders went to Liverpool and drew the game 0-0. It wasn't a classic for sure but was a well earned point for the Red Devils against their fierce rivals and it felt like 2 points dropped at home for Liverpool. United followed that result up with a 2-1 win at Fulham in a tough game for them, which saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team a goal down. Paul Pogba who has significantly improved in the last few weeks scored the winning goal and United will come into the weekend on top with 40 points and six points clear of champions Liverpool although Jurgen Klopp's side has a game in hand.

The other half of Manchester are looking relentless too. Manchester City are in 2nd with 38 points and are starting too look 2019 scary form wise. From their last 30 points they have won 26 of them. Although Aston Villa manager Dean Smith was none too happy about City's goals when Pep Guardiola beat Villa 2-0 in midweek.

And if we talk about City going back to their 2019 football let's not forget Leicester time hopping back to 2016. The Foxes have looked like champion material in moments this season and they have won 3 consecutive games and are in 3rd place just 2 points behind Manchester United. Leicester played arguably their most fulfilling game of their season beating Chelsea 2-0 at King Power Stadium. Surely Leicester have to be contenders now although football can change so quick. Look at Chelsea who were being tipped to challenge for the title 8 weeks ago and now manager Frank Lampard could realistically lose his job. The Blues have slumped down too 8th and are 11 points behind the league leaders.

Everton have 2 games in hand over some of their rivals including Manchester United and could be a sleeping dog. The club are in sixth place and if they were to win those games then in theory they would have the same points as Manchester City and Leicester. Everton haven't played since January 12th and are not scheduled to play again until January 27th when they take on Leicester in what will be a crunch game.

West Ham and Arsenal are among the teams in form and David Moyes side are in 7th place with 32 points and have won their last 3 games in a row. The Hammers have conceded just 1 goal in their last 4 and Michail Antonio up front has been on fire for the Londoners. Arsenal who have had a troubled season so far look to have turned a corner and a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace recently was offset with a 3-0 victory over Newcastle.

It's the FA Cup this weekend but Aston Villa will play Newcastle in the one Premier League match. As for the cup the most eye catching match looks to be between Manchester United and Liverpool who will meet for the 2nd time in under a week although now United are at home. Wolves will travel to Chorley, Southampton will host Arsenal, Manchester City will travel to Cheltenham Town, Everton will take on Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea will be at home to Luton.
