Match Preview:
Manchester City have had a tough time of it lately having fixtures against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG but all in all they have come through them well enough. True they were beaten by PSG in Paris but they did beat Chelsea away from home and drew at Anfield and that isn’t bad going at all as they try to win back to back league titles.
The champions are in 3rd place with 14 points and are only 2 points behind Chelsea. They are unbeaten in their last six games and though they conceded 2 goals at Liverpool Pep Guardiola’s side have kept 4 clean sheets from their last 5 games. Overall City have let in 3 goals, the same as Chelsea, and we should all remember that last season’s success was built on an organised defence.
Burnley have been poor so far and they are still searching for their first victory of the season. Though they have lost 4 games already they have drawn their last two games which came against Norwich and more impressively Leicester. But they will be the big outsiders here to get anything.
On the road Sean Dyche’s team have lost to Everton and Liverpool and conceded 7 goals in their three games so far.
Team News:
Manchester City: Ederson and Gabriel Jesus are unavailable because of international duty. Ferran Torres is out with a foot injury and isn’t due back for at least five weeks. Oleksandr Zinchenko has a knock but will be assessed, it is the same situation for Ilkay Gundogan.
Burnley: Ben Mee is out will illness. Gudmundsson should recover from his knock. Charlie Taylor is 50/50 to recover from his knock.

Man City vs Burnley Prediction:
Manchester City are big odds on to win and they will be expected not just to win but to score a few goals too. This is the market we should be concentrating on. It will be good for Guardiola to have his team back again but it is a huge blow that Ferran Torres is out for at least a month. But with City they may look short up front but still have players all over the field that can score goals, and they should be able to ride out this time, even though City are missing a classic striker as such.
Shocks can happen but we don’t expect it for this game and City should be cruising to a win here at home. It will be interesting to see the reaction of Raheem Sterling as Guardiola has said he could leave, but at the same time Pep is famous for his mind games, and this could simply be a story to get his man working hard again and scoring goals, so don’t be afraid to add Sterling to the goalscorer’s list.
