Match Preview:
It doesn’t get any bigger than this when the top two teams will clash in the Premier League on Sunday. It’s Liverpool v Manchester City at Anfield!
Liverpool have had one of their best starts in years and sit in 2nd place on the same points as champions City with 19. They won their first 6 games and then drew away to Chelsea which was seen as a positive result given that they equalised through Daniel Sturridge in the last minutes. They remain unbeaten and have scored 15 goals, the 2nd best record in the league and conceded just 3 times.
Jurgen Klopp’s team did get a body blow in the Champions League though when they were deservedly beaten by a last minute goal in Italy to lose 1-0 to Napoli. The performance of his team was not good and they looked slightly fatigued after their relentless start to the Premier League campaign.
Manchester City have only dropped points at Wolves and have looked like their slick best in recent weeks. In midweek they went to Hoffenheim and found themselves a goal down within seconds of kick off but showed fantastic strength to come back and eventually win the game 2-1.
City have scored 8 goals away from home which includes going to Arsenal and winning 2-0 and this should be a classic encounter that we will witness this weekend.

Manchester City: Fabian Delph is out after a knock, Kevin De Bruyne has resumed training but is expected to miss most of this month

Liverpool vs Man City Prediction:
Manchester City have a terrible record at Anfield and it will be up to Pep Guardiola’s expertise as a manager to correct that at the weekend. No one will admit it but there is still a lot of anger from the last time the clubs met here when City’s coach was pelted with objects as they tried to enter the stadium. Revenge is a strong word but that is what City will want and that is why they have to start as the favourites to win this match. Normally in a game of this size it would be Liverpool starting the game as if they are behind, but the roles are set to be switched here.
The other problem for Liverpool is that even though they are scoring goals their man of the hour Mohamed Salah is not on form and has clearly been struggling. Daniel Sturridge has come in and done a terrific job but how long can that last for? Our main bet is to see City step up to the plate and inflict Liverpool’s first loss of the season.
