Match Preview:

A huge game will take place early evening on Saturday when Liverpool take on Arsenal and when these two meet there is always a healthy dose of discussion afterwards.

Both teams have started with 100% records although Liverpool will be installed as the favourites especially being at home. The Reds beat Norwich here 4-1 on the opening day of the season, and success has continued for Jurgen Klopp’s men. They have won the Super Cup over Chelsea and then returned to action in the league to beat Southampton away from home 2-1.

The only negatives from Liverpool’s point of view is that Alisson will be out of this game and in the 3 competitive games they have played so far they have conceded in every one. In attack they are as strong as ever and have already netted six times in 2 league games. It’s been important for the club that both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane who bagged 44 goals between them last season have already got off the mark and they could be a handful here.

Arsenal having gone 15 years without a league title are not known to be a contender for it any more. In some ways that could be a good thing for the club, to keep their heads down and try and stay in the mix for as long as possible. The Gunners have got off to a great start beating Newcastle on the opening day 1-0 and then just having too much for Burnley at the Emirates winning 2-1.

Team News:

Liverpool: Alisson is out until the end of the month with a calf strain. Naby Keita has a muscle injury and his return has been delayed. Dejan Lovren should be available again for selection after illness.

Arsenal: Mesut Ozil had a minor illness, he will be assessed at the last minute and could be included for this game. Granit Xhaka has a back injury but it is more bruising and minor and he will be assessed ahead of the game. Hector Bellerin will be out for at least another 2 months following his knee injury

Liverpool on paper should win but this season there has just been a little bit more bite about Arsenal, and they look like a team to watch out for this season. They have found themselves more and Unai Emery has his feet under the desk so to speak now. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has started well scoring goals and there is much potential in Nicolas Pepe. The bookmakers have really gone full on for Liverpool to get the win, but there could well be more to this game than meets the eye and we think Arsenal can give Liverpool a game especially down the wings and with pace and remember that Adrian as fill in goal keeper has conceded in every game. We are going to take Arsenal on the handicap and they are a very solid price too.
