Leicester vs Everton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 1st December 2019
Kick off at 4.30pm GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium

Match Preview:

Leicester continue to amaze and Brendan Rodgers has obviously installed a winning mentality back into the Foxes as they prepare to meet Everton knowing that they are in 2nd place.

The gap to Liverpool is now 11 points but Leicester will be favourites to win this game given their form and the fact that they are yet to lose at home. At the King Power they have won 5 of their 6 matches and have conceded just 3 goals, which is the best home record in the league.

Everything is in tip top shape for Leicester, they are scoring goals, on average 2 a game, winning games, and hardly conceding, and the confidence within the side is the best it has been since they won the title back in 2016.

The same cannot be said of Everton who come into this game in 17th place just 4 points from the bottom three. Last weekend felt like a new low for the club losing 2-0 at home to Norwich when they were greatly tipped to get 3 points against the bottom three side who have struggled all season.

Manager Marco Silva is somehow clinging onto his job, but one of thoe reasons might be down to the fact that Everton have a nightmare fixture list in December which includes playing Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. Perhaps the board do not want a new manager walking into that? The club have picked up 7 points from their last 15 and away they have just 1 win all season, which came in their last game against Southampton.

Team News:

Leicester: The Foxes have no new injury concerns coming into this match

Everton: Theo Walcott is a major doubt to play due to an unspecified reason. Seamus Coleman has been ruled out and Morgan Schneiderlin is a doubt also. Fabian Delph’s return looks like it could be delayed another week

Leicester vs Everton Head to Head:

Last season Everton beat Leicester at King Power Stadium 2-1.

From the last 4 matches played at Leicester, Everton have only lost once.

There is a 70% chance to see both teams to score.

There is a 50% chance to see over 3.5 goals.

Leicester vs Everton Prediction:

With Everton’s ever growing injury list effectively the club will come to King Power Stadium with no defensive midfielder’s and one can only think that the likes of Jamie Vardy will be licking their lips in anticipation. Everton need something here and a board meeting last week confirmed that Silva would remain in charge for this game, so it does seem like this match is win/draw or bust for him. A draw would be acceptable against Leicester who have been in such tremendous form of course.

The problem for Everton is how do they keep Leicester quiet? They do have a decent record here and the game could get physical. But looking at the skill set of both teams right now and the confidence factor it would seem foolish to go against Leicester especially at home.
