Huddersfield vs Man Utd: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 5th May 2019
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Kirklees Stadium

Match Preview:

If you’re Huddersfield, the worst team in the Premier League who have conceded 11 goals in their past 3 matches and have lost 28 games this season, it would feel like a sad joke that your next opponent is Manchester United, but there you go it is, and The Terriers will be favourtes to lose their 29th game of the season come Sunday afternoon.

At home the club have won just 2 games all season but one of the worst statistics has to be that their home fans have seen the club score just 9 goals all season, that’s an awfully poor return.

With their 1-1 draw against Chelsea last week that was probably the final nail in the coffin for Manchester United’s top 4 hopes as they slipped 3 points behind with just 6 points on the board.

However United’s last two games are Huddersfield and then Cardiff at home and it is very possible that they can win both. Form has been poor with just one win in their past five games and away from home the Red Devils have lost 3 games in a row, it seems to have gone south for the club very quickly.

Team News:

Huddersfield: Ben Hamer is out with a knock. Aaron Mooy could return to the squad, Zanka has a cold and could miss the game

Manchester United: Take a deep breath Manchester United fans, there are many injury worries here; Under pressure striker Romelu Lukaku could miss the rest of the season after his hamstring injury although this has not been confirmed. Eric Bailly has been ruled out for the rest of the season with his knee injury. Mason Greenwood is out with a knock. Phil Jones will be assessed after his knock, Jesse Lingard could return after a knee problem. Marcus Rashford will be assessed after aggrivating his shoulder, Sergio Romero is 50/50 to make the bench as United’s goalkeeping no.2. with a minor knee injury. Chris Smalling is expected to return after missing the Chelsea game due to a knock and Valencia is finally back in training and is 50/50 to make the cut

Huddersfield vs Man Utd Head to Head:

Last season in this fixture United won 2-0.

Huddersfield vs Man Utd Prediction:

United all the way here. They are not involved in any cup competitions and this is their game now and where the club are at. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to see a reaction from his team who are really finding it hard to win games but surely playing a team already relegated even if it is away from home is the perfect match for the club right now. Back Anthony Martial to get on the score sheet, he should get a chance in light of all the injuries. And despite a few players missing United should still be able to brush aside Huddersfield at this stage of the season.

Huddersfield vs Man Utd Betting Tips:

Manchester United to be winning at half time at 1.80

Anytime goalscorer: Anthony Martial at 2.25
