Match Preview:

Fulham have a very difficult game at the weekend when they take on Liverpool on Sunday and it looks a certainty that Scott Parker’s side will be playing Championship football next season.

The Cottagers will be under no illusions as they are 13 points from safety and having to face one of the best performing sides in the Premier League there only really looks like being one result. So what advantages could Fulham have? To be honest we would be pulling at straws - yes they are at home but they have only won here 4 times this season. However, they did get to rest this week whilst Liverpool had to play in the Champions League but apart from that the gulf in quality of the two teams is simply huge.

Then there’s Fulham’s form where they have lost their last 5 games in a row, with their latest match ending in a 3-1 defeat at Leicester.

Liverpool on the other hand had a superb result against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek when after drawing 0-0 at home in the first leg they went to Germany and beat Bayern 3-1. The Reds have now qualified for the quarter finals where they will play Porto.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have dropped points recently after drawing two games and the worry is that they are not scoring enough goals away from home but playing Fulham presents the perfect opportunity to put that right.

The major concern for the club is that they have drawn their last 3 away games in a row and have just 1 win in their last 5 away matches, where they only managed 3 goals from those 5 games even though generally speaking they have been free scoring this season.

Fulham: The only doubt for The Cottagers is Andre Schurrle who was suffering from illness. But he is back in training and is expected to play in this game

Liverpool: Jordan Henderson hurt his ankle v Bayern Munich and is set to be ruled out of this game but should be back after the international break. Naby Keita looks set to return after his muscle injury

Had this game been earlier in the season perhaps Fulham would have had some motivation to make the game difficult for The Reds, a classic theme of trying to upset the favourites. But it is very difficult to see past Liverpool not scoring a few goals here and winning easily. Liverpool have virtually a full squad to choose from and the motivation that a win would take them back into first place. To be honest Liverpool are the only team here that could stop themselves from winning by producing a shocking performance which we don’t think will happen. Liverpool are being quoted at around 1.20 for the win, so instead we will take them at half time.
