Fulham vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 5th December 2018
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Claudio Ranieri, what a guy! And what a manager, and how funny life has worked out for him, in what will be his 3rd game in charge of Fulham after coming back to the Premier League. In his 2nd game he played against his former side in Chelsea and now in this one he will be against Leicester, the side for which he won the league title with and shocked every football fan in the world.

Though there will be a natural rivalry when the game starts, every travelling Leicester fan will salute Ranieri and cheer his name, that is up until the whistle goes.

As for Fulham they started with a bang by beating Southampton 3-2 in a very entertaining game of football. This was just The Cottagers 2nd win of the season. They then lost to Chelsea 2-0 away, but that was to be expected. Now they face a tricky test but in fairness being at home they have a chance to get something from this game. Ranieri will be well aware that his side will need to pick up as many home points as possible to stay up. Right now they are bottom of the league but with a couple of wins could escape the bottom three. There is all to play for.

Leicester continue to fight hard and haven’t lost a game in their last five. They are in 9th place, 13 points in front of Fulham and it is clear that the Foxes are looking to finish in a European place. Away form is decent with just 1 loss in their past 4 games and they have won 10 points on the road from a possible 21.

Team News:

Fulham: Floyd Ayite is out with a groin injury but could return at the weekend. Kevin McDonald could return to the squad after suffering a knock a few weeks ago.

Leicester: Rachid Ghezzal remains sidelined with a leg injury but has returned to training. Harry Maguire looks set to miss this match with his knee injury but could return for the weekend

Fulham vs Leicester Head to Head:

The teams have not met here since 2008 when Fulham won 3-2.

This is a fixture full of goals and there have been 23 goals in the last 4 meetings.

Leicester have won just 1 of the past 5 meetings between the sides.

Fulham vs Leicester Prediction:

This is set to be a very close game and it has been 5 years since the teams met each other in any competition. Fulham need the points for survival and Leicester are going for a top 8 finish. The Foxes have become such a handful and are not easy to beat. There really won’t be too much between the sides, and we should look to history which points to goals. Our main bet then for this one is to see both sides score on the night. For smaller stakes let’s predict the correct score, which really could go either way.

Fulham vs Leicester Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 1.62

Correct Score 2-2 or 3-2 to Fulham at 13.00 and 34.00
