Everton vs Bournemouth: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 26th July 2020
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: Goodison Park

Match Preview:

Everton will play their final game of the season at home and whilst it is has been an up and down season for the club, and one where they have had to see their rivals Liverpool win the league, they appear to be going in the right direction under Ancelotti and will want to finish with a win.

Bournemouth represent a good opponent for Everton and they should be able to overcome the team from the south without too many problems. The key for Everton will be to play with more pace. Mostly since the restart some of the squad have looked lethargic and they could put Eddie Howe’s team to the sword here and go off with a bang rather than a whimper if they impose themselves more.

Bournemouth have conceded over 60 goals and in the end that is far too much to be staying up. This is a tough game for the club to end the season on but it is a must win game if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation via goal difference. They will be clear underdogs to get anything from this game, but if they show some fight a result is possible, especially if Everton put in another lethargic display.

Team News:

Everton: Everton finish the season with the same list of long term absentees. Moise Kean is also a doubt for this game with a knee injury.

Bournemouth: Nathan Ake and Adam Smith are still both doubtful to play.

Everton vs Bournemouth Head to Head:

Earlier in the season Bournemouth beat Everton in the reverse fixture 3-1.

Last season Everton won this game 2-0.

The clubs have played at Goodison Park 4 times in recent years and Bournemouth have no wins.

7 from the last 9 meetings has seen over 2.5 goals.

Everton vs Bournemouth Prediction:

There are a lot of goals traditionally when these two teams meet and Everton fans are always going to remember in 2017 when the club won 6-3 at this stadium. Everton would like to see more from Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has looked quite rusty since the restart. Bournemouth did beat Everton earlier in the season where striker Callum Wilson scored and took on a starring role and he could be a threat but we expect goals from Everton also, where they will try and enforce the game right from the beginning.
