England Premier League
Saturday 7th March 2020
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Selhurst Park
Wins over Newcastle and Brighton in their last two games have pretty much assured Crystal Palace of their survival in the Premier League for another season. This came after some poor form but the Palace of earlier in the season look to have returned, with their 1-0 wins and stubborn defence and given their ever growing injury list this has been no mean feat for the Eagles.
Palace have risen to 12th place and they could go 9th depending on other results, although that would seem unlikely, but the league is so close around these positions that with good consistency there is no reason not to suggest that even a Europa League place could be up for grabs.
Watford stunned world football last weekend when they became the first team to beat Liverpool in the league in over 13 months. Liverpool were going for their 19th straight win, which would have been an all time English record but the Hornets stung hard and ended their record. Not only that, they won the game 3-0, and nobody could have seen that coming. Whilst beating Liverpool was fantastic what was more important is that the win lifted the club out of the relegation zone and into 17th place, although only goal difference is keeping them there.
These are still tough times for Watford who will want to find the form they had under Nigel Pearson when he first arrived at the club in December, hopefully for them the win over Liverpool will rekindle that fire.
Watford have lost 8 of their 14 games away from home with their last away win coming against Bournemouth nearly two months ago.
Crystal Palace: James Tomkins has a small chance to be fit for this game after recovering from his hamstring injury, but might have fitness issues.
Watford: Gerard Deulofeu looks like he will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury and that is a big blow for the club.

Crystal Palace vs Watford Prediction:
Was the Liverpool victory a one off, because it came when Watford were starting to struggle again? That is the major question here because Watford are coming up against a team who believe in themselves once more. Not only are Palace winning games they are not conceding either, two games, no goals, at this stage of the season, this is very positive for the club. At home they won’t be easy to play against, and we’re not convinced by Watford’s away form so we will be backing the home side to take the points.
