Crystal Palace vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 18th October 2020
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Selhurst Park

Match Preview:

Crystal Palace started the season well with two wins in a row but they come into this game having lost their last two.

Losing away to Chelsea should be of little concern but Roy Hodgson would not have liked the score line which finished 4-0. The club would have used the international break to take stock and this home game could be three points for the Eagles. Currently Palace are in 12th place and apart from the Chelsea game have played good football. A win here could see them climb back into the top 10.

Brighton have lost 3 of their four games played so far and they are a team who could really struggle this season if they don’t quickly find their identity. They still have, what on the face of it, looks like that odd result - going to Newcastle and coming away with a 3-0 win. Now it looks like a false hope.

Graham Potter’s team have conceded 7 goals in their last two games and that will be worrying. Their defeat against Manchester United felt unlucky and they played good football. In their last game they tried to stay with Everton in an entertaining game but finally lost 4-2. At least even in defeat Brighton are showing encouraging signs, that’s the one thing the club have and they will hope that over the season it is the difference between staying in the league or not.

Brighton: Aaron Connelly has picked up a knock and will be assessed but has a good chance of playing. Davy Propper and Tariq Lamptey are being tipped to return from the sidelines.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton Prediction:

This is probably one of the mos difficult games to predict as both sides are very equal. Both also possess the quality to beat each other and we think this game has a draw written all over it.

This may not be the most entertaining game of the weekend and that is why we should be looking into different markets and getting some value out of the spectacle. We will back Wilfried Zaha to score, the player has started the season with intent and will fancy his chances in this game.
