Chelsea vs Southampton: Preview and Prediction

England FA Cup
Sunday 22nd April 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Wembley Stadium

Match Preview:

The FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium between Chelsea and Southampton threatens to be too one sided and Chelsea should ease into the English curtain closer.

Chelsea really impressed on Thursday night when they beat Burnley who have on form been the best side in the Premier League in recent weeks. Add to the fact that they beat Burnley away from home and it makes their victory even more impressive.

This will be Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's last chance of silverware for the Blues given that there is a chance he will leave the club at the end of the season. Chelsea have recently beaten Southampton in the league in what turned out to be thrilling five goal match that the Blues eventually won 3-2

Southampton have relegation on their minds coming into this match but are sure to give a good performance, the key is keeping Chelsea at bay for as long as possible. The Saints had a league game on Thursday night and were able to get a point from Leicester in their game that finished 0-0. Southampton are now 4 points from safety and have played a game more than 17th placed Swansea. Their fate looks almost sealed.
