England Premier League
Saturday 9th November 2019
Kick off at 12.30pm GMT
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Match Preview:
Who would have thought after changing manager to someone with no top level managerial experience, and having a transfer ban, that by November we can claim that Chelsea are the most in form team in the Premier League? well that is the case.
Frank Lampard started out with a wobble but he has his team playing wonderful football and they are getting the results. The Blues will be the favourites to get another three points on Saturday and come into this game in 4th place with 23 points, separated only on goal difference with Leicester in 3rd.
Chelsea have won their last 5 consecutive games and last weekend beat Watford 2-1 away. It’s interesting to see that they have only won 8 points at home after a slow start but have won their last two games at Stamford Bridge in the league beating Brighton and Newcastle. In midweek they played in the Champions League and turned round a certain losing match in dramatic fashion. At one point Lampard’s team were 4-1 down to Ajax but came back to draw 4-4 and that will only add to the confidence within the team.
Crystal Palace have had a good start to their league campaign also, although they lost last weekend at home to Leicester and have dropped to 9th place. The Eagles could get within 5 points of Chelsea if they were to win at the weekend. However this could be a bad spell for Roy Hodgson’s side who have not won a game since the beginning of October.
Despite some lows for Palace they have won 2 games on the road and two tough ones too in West Ham and Manchester United and it is sure that they won’t be taken lightly by the home side.
