Burnley vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 26th July 2020
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: Turf Moor

Match Preview:

Both sides have few things to complain about this season and by their standards both have done well. They have had their highs and lows but survival is the name of the game and they have achieved their goal, and in Burnleys case, far exceeded their goal.

Burnley have had very good form since the restart even if at times it has looked like they have taken a few steps backwards, they are a good unit and all in all they have been solid in most positions. At home they almost won 50% of their games, which is a fair return when we look at the squad and you get the feeling that manager Sean Dyche has squeezed more out of this squad than other managers would have.

Brighton have had a few scares along the way in terms of getting sucked into a relegation battle but in truth it never really happened and Graham Potter’s team were always a couple of wins ahead of 18th which was just good enough. Everyone associated with the club will be delighted that they will be playing Premier League football next season.

Away from home Brighton have scored few points, just over 30% of their points but recent away form isn’t too bad even if it is littered with draws.

Team News:

Burnley: Burnley have a number of long term absentees, Charlie Taylor is also doubtful with a thigh injury.

Brighton: Jose Izquierdo and Steven Alzate are still sidelined for this encounter.

Burnley vs Brighton Head to Head:

Earlier in the season the teams drew 1-1.

Last season Burnley won this fixture 1-0.

There have been 3 0-0 results between the teams in the last 8 meetings.

Brighton have not beaten Burnley away from home since 2012.

Burnley vs Brighton Prediction:

Burnley have been very good this season and this being their last game of the season and last at home we expect them to put in a performance for their manager with the absence of their fans. They are stronger than Brighton who overall have a poor record over them anyway and we can see Burnley putting in a professional display here and getting all three points.

With 2 goals in his last 2 games, Chris Wood for the home side can round off his season with a goal at home and the striker will be worth picking for just that.

Burnley vs Brighton Betting Tips:
