England Premier League
Saturday 22nd September 2018
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
It’s bizarre to think that Brighton’s only win this season has come against Manchester United but it’s a fact and Chris Hughton’s side are 14th coming into this game. They played on Monday at Southampton and drew but as Hughton said it felt like a win for the team given that they were losing 2-1 and they had entered injury time.
That was the fight that Brighton need if they are going to stay up. They will welcome a return back to the AMEX but Tottenham will be a formidable opponent that is for sure. Brighton drew against Fulham and so are unbeaten so far at home and have scored 5 goals in those two games.
Pressure has seemed to move swiftly from Manchester United a team that Tottenham soundly beat 3-0 a few weeks ago to Tottenham itself after they have lost back-to-back games. First there was Watford and then Liverpool and the press are saying that Mauricio Pochettino’s team look shot and tired. They might have a point and a trip to the San Siro in Italy would hardly have made them rest in midweek and to add salt to the wounds they lost that game too.
Team News:
Brighton: No new injuries ahead of this game
Tottenham: Dele Alli has a hamstring injury but has returned to training and could be assessed ahead of this game the same applies to Moussa Sissoko. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris won’t return until early next month
