Brighton vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 23rd November 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

Brighton have been a bit up and down but they have shown some good mental strength at certain times and that is why they are not in the bottom three and come into this game in 11th place. The club have won 2 and lost 2 from their last four games and their last game ended in defeat at the hands of Manchester United with that game ending 3-1 at Old Trafford.

The club won’t mind too much about that, and at home they have lost just once and are on a 3 game winning streak and a four game unbeaten streak. It is clear that Brighton have become trained to make playing at the AMEX stadium their fortress and in effect this is what could keep them up.

Leicester have been playing their most glorious football since winning the league in 2016. Don’t rub your eyes when you see that the club are in 2nd place and perhaps winning the league wasn’t just something that happens every 100 years. In truth no one looks like catching Liverpool who have an 8 point lead over Leicester but considering the strengths of Manchester City, to see Leicester where they are is a massive achievement in itself.

The Foxes are in brilliant form and have won 4 games in a row. They have the 4th best away record losing 2 games and winning 50% of the time. Their last away match was a victory against Crystal Palace.

Team News:

Brighton: Lewis Dunk is suspended for this match. Aaron Connolly is out with a groin strain. Adam Webster could return after his ankle injury and faces a test

Leicester: The Foxes have no new injuries coming into this game

Brighton vs Leicester Head to Head:

Last season this fixture ended 1-1.

Brighton have not beaten Leicester at home since 2013.

There is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

Brighton vs Leicester Prediction:

Leicester will be favourites to win this game but Brighton have to be respected for their very decent home record. It would be foolish to go against Leicester at this stage of the season but they simply won’t keep winning games especially away from home and Brighton’s recent record at home is impressive. At the same time Leicester boast a decent away record but we think Brighton could frustrate Brendan Rodgers side and just how long are Manchester City going to stay in 4th place? Caution needs to be applied in this game, which is why we still think Leicester are the team to back but with the draw covered in case Brighton prove too stubborn to get the better of.
