England Premier League

Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium
Brighton won their first game in three matches last weekend when they went to in form Huddersfield and beat them 2-1. It was just the boost that Chris Hughton’s team needed ahead of what should be a tough game against Crystal Palace.
The win means Brighton are in 11th position on 18 points and the club have won 7 points from their last 15 available. At the AMEX they have lost just one game all season which is an impressive record for them, so good that we can believe that they will be safe this season. They did draw their last game here to Leicester which finished 1-1. The only trouble for the home side is that with just 9 goals scored in front of their home fans they haven’t been firing on all cylinders.
Crystal Palace have moved up to 14th place after going two games undefeated and could close the gap to their hosts to just three points with a win here. Palace recorded a good 2-0 win over Burnley last weekend and it is evident that manager Roy Hodgson has been working on defence. The club have kept two clean sheets in a row and have conceded just 1 goal in 3 weeks.
On the road The Eagles do not have a good record where from their last 4 games they have lost 3 and drawn one. They have not won away from home since beating Huddersfield almost 3 months ago.
Brighton: Dale Stephens is serving his 2nd of a 3 game match ban for his red card against Cardiff.
Crystal Palace: The only injury for Palace is Christian Benteke who is set to miss this game after spending weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury, though he is expected back in a few weeks.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:
Last season this match ended 2-1 to Brighton.
Crystal Palace have won here just once since 2011.
3 out of the last 5 meetings has seen the half time correct score of 0-0.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace Prediction:
There are patterns when these two teams play- where we see over goals market, followed by a lack of goals. The pattern has been uncanny and if this was to continue we would see both teams to score and that will be one of our choices given that there isn’t much in terms of quality between the two sides.
Palace have become more aggressive which is a good thing for them and their defence has stepped up to the plate. But Brighton have quality to hurt them at home. This will be a close game with the majority of action played out in the midfield, whoever wins that battle, wins the game.
