Match Preview:
Brentford will be very happy with themselves coming into this game and yes they will be the big underdogs to get anything against Liverpool but they must understand to try and enjoy the game.
The Bees come into this game in 9th place and have only lost once so far, that is great going and of course with them being back at home against a big club there will be reminders of their fantastic 2-0 victory over Arsenal on the opening day of the season.
Brentford beat Wolves 2-0 last weekend and then followed that up by destroying hapless Oldham 7-0. This match will be very different and the toughest yet but you get the feeling that the players cannot wait until kick off.
Liverpool are looking very solid and only Chelsea’s goal difference is keeping them from being in 1st place. The Reds are unbeaten and have won 4 of their last five games including two in a row. Last weekend they eased past Leeds 3-0 without breaking sweat and this is a good period for the club. In midweek they knocked out Norwich 3-0 in the EFL Cup and it does seem as if it is business as usual for Jurgen Klopp’s side who have already found their stride this season.
Team News:
Brentford: Rico Henry has an ankle problem and will be assessed. Mads Bech Sorensen is out long term with a knee injury. Josh Da Silva is also out long term with a hip injury.
Liverpool: Roberto Firmino is being tipped to return after fitness issues. Naby Keita has a knock and will probably miss this game out. Thiago Alcantara is out with a calf injury.

It is incredible to think how little these teams have played each other over the years and because of that nobody will be taking in head to head meetings. It is impossible to compare any pattern from the 1940s and 32 years is since the last game makes no sense either the game was certainly different back then.
All we can go on are two things; how strong is either team and how is their form? Liverpool win both of those hands down and they should be able to come here and take 3 points away. However football is rarely that straightforward and you do get the sense that the Bees will have something to say here. Currently Brentford are 7.00 to win this game, that is a great price when all things are considered. However Liverpool should power through and win though their price is not very appetising as one could expect, but we can increase the odds with no extra risk using a "-1 asian handicap".
