It could be argued that the Brazilians still haven’t found their rhythm at this World Cup but they still look like a solid bet to go a long way. This was underlined in their round of 16 match when they took on a tricky and fearless Mexico team hoping to make it to the quarter finals for the first time in their history. It wasn’t to be and Brazil bucked the trend of big guns falling here in Russia by winning the game with a very professional 2-0 scoreline.

Neymar and Roberto Firmino did the damage and put Mexico out. This Brazil side have excellent attacking options of course but they are playing more of a European style under Tite which could serve them very well at this World Cup. It shouldn’t be lost on anyone to note that they have conceded just 1 goal so far.

Belgium made one of the great World Cup comebacks against Japan in the round of 16 where with 20 minutes left to play they were 2-0 down yet came back to win 3-2 after looking down and out, and are still in the World Cup. It would have been a huge blow and a huge shock to Roberto Martinez’s gifted team to have exited to Japan but Belgium live to see another day.

This match on paper could be the game of the tournament with so much talent on show and both teams will be attack minded. There will be some worries over the defensive duties of Belgium and the realistic question that if Japan can find 2 goals why can’t Brazil? This match is a real match up of a traditional champion against a nation that are getting prepared to make a major impact on the international scene.
