Bournemouth vs Aston Villa: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 1st February 2020
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

It’s 18th v 16th as the relegation battle officially has been opened and it will be exciting to see who escapes it and who might get dragged down.

Bournemouth got a big win in their last game beating Brighton 3-1 which stopped a 4 game losing streak and a win at the weekend would propel them out of the bottom three. They are currently only in 18th because of goal difference over West Ham.

Eddie Howe’s side have won just 3 games at home so far and picked up just 4 points at Vitality Stadium from their last 15.

Aston Villa come here with a spring in their step after upsetting Leicester in the Carabao Cup and knocking them out. They have reached the final where they will play Manchester City at the end of February.

Villa are in 16th and only two points ahead of their hosts so a win for them is also vital. They won their last game 2-1 against Watford, which was impressive given Watford’s brilliant form of late and Dean Smith’s team have only lost one game in their last four.

On the road though Villa have won just 2 games and lost eight. The good news is that form does seem to be getting better for the club and they have gone their last two games away from home unbeaten after beating Burnley and drawing with Brighton.

Team News:

Bournemouth: Phillip Billing has a back injury and is a doubt for the game. Joshua King looks set to miss another game with his hamstring. Lloyd Kelly will be assessed

Aston Villa: The club have no new injuries coming into this game

Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Prediction:

This could be a cracking match and we think it could blow up, lots of tension, lots to play for and this could get very physical. But looking at the last week, and that’s all you can do sometimes in football, it is Villa who are looking like staying up. That can all change though, form goes quickly with teams near the bottom but we think Villa will come here in high spirits and we are going to back them in this game. Jack Grealish is leading his team well, and we will back him to get on the score sheet too, but our main choice here will be to see the away side take something from this game.
